This year, the Gala is supporting several of our Foundation’s initiatives:

Exceptional Riders is a Kiwanis project shared by our division of clubs in South Broward. Exceptional Riders (formerly Kiwanis Horses & Handicapped) was founded in 1979 as the premiere therapeutic riding program in South Florida. The program currently serves approximately 24 physically and/or mentally challenged riders in Broward County. Freed from the confines of wheelchairs or the aid of braces, these riders take to the saddle each Saturday during the months of September through June, and experience a form of independence rarely equaled.

Adopt a Turkey is our annual  program to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Each year, volunteers and community donors help distribute turkeys and non-perishable items to around 200 local households. This initiative is part of the club’s broader mission to support and uplift the community through hands-on service.

Scholarships for high school seniors from Miramar and Pembroke Pines is also a cornerstone club mission. Each year we award scholarships to deserving Key Club student leaders and other exceptional students headed to college.
